Wetu Content Importer FAQs #

  • Do I need a WordPress site to use the Wetu Importer?

Yes, the Wetu Importer is built specifically for WordPress and works with the Tour Operator plugin. It won’t function on other website platforms.

  • How do I connect my Wetu account to my website?

You’ll need to request an API key from Wetu. Once you have it, head to your WordPress dashboard, go to Tools > Import > TO WETU Importer > Settings, and enter the key in the field provided.

  • What’s the correct order for importing content from Wetu?

The recommended sequence is: first Tours, then Accommodation, then Destinations. This ensures all linked content is brought into your site correctly and avoids missing connections between post types.

  • Can I customise the content that gets imported?

Yes. You can choose to import specific fields from Wetu and also set whether to manage titles, descriptions, tags, and images on your site manually or let the importer handle them.

  • Why aren’t images showing up for my Destinations?

Wetu does not provide default images for Destinations. You need to upload your own images to the relevant Destination galleries in your Wetu account before they can be imported into your site.

  • How often does the importer sync with Wetu?

You can set a schedule for automatic synchronisation in the plugin settings. This only applies to content that has already been imported and published — new content still needs to be added manually through the importer interface.

  • Will imported content overwrite my custom edits?

It can, unless you’ve enabled the settings to manage titles, descriptions, and images manually in the importer. These settings prevent Wetu from overwriting your changes during sync.
